About St. Aidan's Episcopal Church

St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church stands on a hill at the corner of Diamond Heights Boulevard and Gold Mine Drive in San Francisco. An enormous open flame is emblazoned on the front of the church, painted in the prism colors of fire. The flame is the symbol of Saint Aidan, a welcoming beacon of light and an invitation to all who see it to join us in celebration of the Good News of God’s Love and Grace.

The people of St. Aidan’s reflect the warmth of the flame: vibrant, passionate, unpredictable, joyful, and embracing.

We are rooted in a progressive, open expression of Christianity and take our spiritual lives very seriously (though not without humor!). In our daily lives we try to follow the call of our Baptismal Covenant to seek and serve Christ in all persons, to resist evil, to strive for justice and peace among all people and to respect the dignity of every human being.

The people of St. Aidan's reflect the warmth of the flame: vibrant, passionate, unpredictable, joyful and embracing.

Community

St. Aidan’s has a strong sense of kinship. We seek to be a community where families of all configurations feel supported, where children of all ages are safe and nurtured, where people are free to express themselves without fear and to participate openly at a level of personal comfort. We strive to be responsive to each other’s needs and to share each other’s joys and sorrows.
